Season 7 of Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 7 is quickly approaching, and with everything that has happened in it, from DC heroes showing up to island-wide Alien Invasions, it is only appropriate that the season ends with a bang. Here is everything you need to know about Operation Sky Fire in Fortnite.

What is Operation Sky Fire?

In an official blog post on Epic Games website, Operation Sky Fire was described as “a plan to end the Invasion once and for all. You’ve answered [Agent Slone’s] calls, worked as an undercover agent for the IO – now it’s time to infiltrate The Last Reality and put a stop to the Alien’s occupation. It’s time to commence: Operation: Sky Fire.” The main theme of Season 7 of Fortnite revolved around an Alien Force taking over the Battle Royale Island. With this special in-game event, it is time to get with your fireteam and send a “final message to the invading Aliens.” This event is meant to end the Alien threat and Season 7, setting up what players will be experiencing in the upcoming Season 8.

When Does Operation Sky Fire Begin?

Operation Sky Fire will kick off in Fortnite at 4 PM ET/ 1 PM PT on September 12.  Epic has made sure to let content creators know that the event is not replayable and that they will need to “take appropriate steps to record and archive your experience to share with everyone.” Even if you are not a content creator, it’s good to know that the event is one and done, no do-overs.

How to Play Operation Sky Fire

To take part in the game-changing event, all you will need to do is sign in to Fortnite during the allotted time window and select the “Operation Sky Fire” playlist. The mode will be made available to players 30 minutes before to ensure that they are able to reserve a spot in the mission. You will be able to join the mode with a party of up to 16 players, so grab some friends and get ready for the mission.

What To Do Before the Event

In the blog post, Epic made a point to let players know that their Gold Bars will reset on September 9. “To help you along the way, a new Legendary Quest will reward you for offloading your cache of Bars with some final XP to top off your Battle Pass.” They say to make sure you complete any Season 7 Quests that they have yet to do and to exchange their Alien Artifacts to get different Kymera styles. Finally, for those who are fans of the Son of Krypton, the Superman Quests need to be completed by the time Operation: Sky Fire begins, but Quests not in the Battle Pass like Vox Hunter and LeBron James Quests will be available in the next season.

When Does Season 8 for Fortnite Begin?

When the Operation Sky Fire event ends, Fortnite will go down for maintenance and get ready for the launch of Season 8. The season will begin the day after the event on Monday, September 13. The last time an in-game event of this scale occurred in Fortnite was “The End,” the event that transitioned Fortnite from Chapter 1 to 2. If that is anything to go off of, then it is pretty clear that this event is going to be huge. With how much of the Island now focuses on the IO bases and Alien-themed locations/redesigns, it is safe to say that the map will be seeing a decent facelift in the aftermath of the Operation Sky Fire event in Fortnite.

Now you have everything you need to know about Operation Sky Fire. Fortnite Chapter 2 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
