Loot sharks are a cool feature added to Fortnite in the last Chapter. Loot sharks are sharks that swim through the bodies of water in Fortnite that have glowing moths and eyes. You can even ride them through the water if you want. Cool, right? You can’t find Loot Sharks in Team Rumble or Creative, but they can be found in locations primarily covered in water. Fortnite Loot Sharks are pretty cool because they drop loot when you kill them. This can be a decent way to get awesome gear early on in a match.

Loot Shark Locations

There aren’t many places that really have loads of water in the Season 3, Chapter 3 map. That being said, they can spawn in a few places, though there are a couple places that they always spawn in. To the West of Coney Crossroads, there is a lake that ALWAYS spawns a Loot Shark. To the East of Sanctuary, there is another larger body of water that always spawns a Fortnite Loot Shark.

Fighting

You need to be wary of where the Fortnite Loot Shark is at all times. If the shark even touches you, it will deal 10 damage. Though, if the shark bites you, it will deal 60 damage. At that rate, a shark can deplete your health very quickly, which is something that you don’t want to happen. If you’re going to try to take on one of these great aquatic beasts, aim to attack them out of the water. They move faster that you do while in the water, and they have very high health.

Another thing that may help when taking down a Loot Shark is to attack it with high velocity weapons. Use Assault Rifles or SMG’s if you’re on land near the shark. If you’re trying to fight it from a farther distance, sniper rifles can work just as well if you have decent aim.

Keep in mind that if you have a low amount of ammo, it wouldn’t be wise to try to take on a Fortnite Loot Shark. Loot Sharks don’t drop ammo, which means you would waste a high amount of ammo to fight the shark and won’t have it replenished. This will more than likely leave you vulnerable to attacks from other players while searching for ammo.
