Want to complete the “Travel distance using Kinetic Ore” challenge in Fortnite? We’re here to help you do it quickly and efficiently. As part of the new weekly challenges, you only have a certain amount of time to complete it to score the XP. The challenge asks players to travel 1,900 meters in a series of five stages. So, this isn’t something you can complete in a single go. However, we do know ways you can gain more distance. Check out our tips below to help you get Kinetic Core and launch yourself through the air.

Where to Find Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

Before you can travel distance using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite, let’s explore what it is.

Kinetic Ore is a glowing, physics-based rock introduced in Chapter 4: Season 1. If you haven’t used it yet, when struck, it charges up before launching. You can jump on it to launch with it, offering players a new and strategic form of quick travel.

It can often be found in different areas around the map, changing with new matches. However, Shattered Slabs is a guaranteed place to find Kinetic Ore to travel a distance on in Fortnite. We’ve marked the location on the map above. Remember that the area can be a hot spot, especially with players trying to complete the challenge. So, you may want to clear it out first before using the Kinetic Ore.

How to Travel Distance Using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

Now that we know where to find it, let’s get to tackling that challenge.

To travel a distance using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite, you want to approach with your pickaxe and aim at it in the direction you want to go. For instance, if you want to travel east on the map, be sure to attack the Kinetic Ore from the west. Kinetic Ore will always launch in the direction that you hit it.

It only travels so far, so you can’t endlessly ride it. A good way to get a few more distances in is to strike with your camera aimed up. This way, your trajectory will go up, giving you a bit more time in the air.

To travel a distance with the Kinetic Ore in Fortnite, remember to hop on in time too. Once it charges and lights up, you only have a few seconds before it goes. Don’t stand too close to the edge either or you will just slide off and possibly harm yourself in the process.

With this knowledge in mind, get out there quickly to complete the challenge and earn those points. You’ll get 16,000 XP with each of the five stages completed.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS5 and PS4 systems, Xbox One and Series consoles, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
