Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has brought tons of new content to the game, including a brand-new map, new weapons, reality augments, and dirt bikes! As part of the Week 4 challenges for this new season, players need to perform various tasks around the map, one of which involves gathering travel distance using the blueish purple colored Kinetic Ores. In this guide, we’ll tell you how you can easily travel long distances using a Kinetic Ore in Fortnite.

How to travel distance using a Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

Getting long travel distances using the Kinetic Ores is fairly straightforward. Once you find a Kinetic Ore, approach it, and then hit it with your pickaxe tool roughly four to five times. The Kinetic Ore will then begin to emit a beam of energy in the opposite direction from where you strike it. The main trick here is to look at the direction you wish to travel and then strike the Kinetic Ore. When the Kinetic Ore builds up enough power, hop onto the slab, and you will get slingshot in the direction of the energy beam, thus gathering big travel distance in the process.

Where to find Kinetic Ore in Fortnite?

Kinetic Ores are blueish-purple slabs that contain some form of strange energy. It is the same material the Shockwave Hammer is made of, that send players flying all over the map. These slabs of Kinetic Ore are exclusively found in abundance in and around the Shattered Slabs POI, which is located toward the western part of the map. These Kinetic Ores can be easily spotted owing to their large size and blueish purple color. While they can spawn in random areas of the map, Shattered Slabs is the only POI where you will find almost 17 Kinetic Ores spread across the area. Additionally, there will also be one solitary Kinetic Ore that spawns in the Rocky Docks POI, which is located to the extreme left of Shattered Slabs.

This challenge is broken down into five stages, with the required travel distance for each stage increasing exponentially: 50 meters, 100 meters, 250 meters, 500 meters, and finally, 1000 meters. Completing each stage of the challenge will reward players with 16,000 XP.
