Two new NPC have been introduced to the Island this week: Dire and Ragsy. The latter of the two will give you some pretty strange challenges, but it is the fifth one that you might have difficulty with. This challenge tasks you with taking damage from an enemy and survive to tell the tale. This guide will show you how to take damage and survive in Fortnite.

How to Take Damage and Survive in Fortnite

The first thing you need to do to start the Punchcard Quest for Ragsy is talk to her. She can be found at Risky Reels to the north of The Aftermath and directly west of Corny Complex. Her location will be signified by a white Speech Bubble when you get close to her. Once you talk to her, you will have to complete Ragsy’s other four challenges before you are able to complete the damage challenge. The other four challenges are to purchase a Shield from a Vending Machine, consume both a Small Shield Potion and a Shield Fish, harvest 50 Stones from Sideways Rocks, and use a shield item while in the Sideways.

Once all is complete, you can continue with trying to take damage (a task that shouldn’t be hard in a Battle Royale). The challenge is pretty straightforward, go to an area that you know an enemy will be and let them get a few hits in. Make sure you don’t get close and just get blown away by a shotgun, let an AR hit you once or twice from range so that you are able to get to some cover after taking the hits. You can either build a small structure to protect yourself or run away, but you will need to live for about 5-10 seconds after taking the last hit. If you do that the challenge should pop and you will be rewarded your XP.

Once you survive taking damage from an enemy, the challenge will be completed and you will be rewarded 30,000 XP for leveling up your Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass. Survive taking damage from an enemy and you will complete Ragsy’s Punchcard Quest.
