If you’ve never played around with vehicles much in Fortnite, now’s the time to try. With a new quest requiring you to use one in a certain way, it helps to learn how to mod a Fortnite vehicle. We’ll help you figure out where to go and what to do when you get there.

How to Mod a Vehicle in Fortnite

In Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 2, you can now unlock the Prowler skin and items. However, you can only do so by completing a series of quests. One of these Fortnite quests involves learning how to mod a vehicle. The exact quest is as follows:

  • Mod a vehicle and drive it 500m in a single match

If you do this, you’ll gain the Prowler’s Grasp Emoticon.

So, not only is learning how to mod a vehicle helpful for finishing a Fortnite quest, but it’s also valuable for random matches.

There are two mods you can place on a vehicle: Off-Road Tires and Cow Catcher.

Just one of these vehicle mods can help you out in a match, but having both allows you to create a beast of a car.

Let’s start with placing the mods before we dive too far into how you can best use them.

So, first things first: find a vehicle and have a mod in your inventory.

Once you have those things, simply throw the mod at the car. The mod is applied automatically.

And that’s all there is to it! It takes seconds to do. You’ll spend most time tracking down a vehicle and the mod to go with it.

Thankfully, both vehicle mods are Common and found as Floor Loot in Fortnite. Check around gas stations to find them.

What Does a Vehicle Mod do in Fortnite?

With the Off-Road Tires mod, your Fortnite vehicle moves faster with greater mobility. These are great to use to get to a certain spot quickly or to save yourself from a battle that may not be going your way.

The tires are large and can still be shot out. However, they have 80 HP.

With the Cow Catcher Fortnite vehicle mod, you can deal good damage when plowing into structures or other players.

If you need some extra cover, you can even set the Cow Catcher up on the ground, as it acts like a metal cover that can’t be moved. It’ll take up to 800 damage before breaking.
