The Week 6 quests for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3, are here. It brings several new opportunities for players to earn even more XP. A bit of a tough Fortnite challenge is the quest to land headshots with the Hammer Assault Rifle. Assault rifles aren’t typically the go-to weapons for headshots. However, it is possible. You can even knock out more than one Week 6 quest at a time.
Land Headshots with the Hammer Assault Rifle in Fortnite
We all know that if you want some good headshots, you pick up a sniper rifle. However, with the right spot and control, you can land some sweet headshots with an assault rifle. Timing is everything in this case. So, be patient, and you can nail the Hammer Assault Rifle challenge in Fortnite and earn 15,000 XP. The exact challenge is laid out below:
- Land headshots from 40 or more meters with the Hammer Assault Rifle (5)
The first thing you want to do is grab yourself a Hammer Assault Rifle. It’s available in all rarities. Be sure to check chests, floor loot, fishing, and supply drops. You can even score a Mythic in the Reality Sapling. If you want to also knock down another challenge, find a Rare or better one. This way, you can also work toward this challenge:
- Deal damage (1,000) to opponents with Rare or better Assault Rifles
When you’re after other players, find yourself a good area to land some potshots. Remember that you must be at least 40m away from your target. Just steady your aim as best as possible to land a headshot. You don’t have to land all 5 in a single match, though.
This may not be enough to eliminate an opponent, but you’ll complete the Fortnite challenge nonetheless simply by using the Hammer Assault Rifle to get headshots.
You can also attempt this on some NPCs, but if that doesn’t complete the challenge, just find an enemy player.
