Like other popular online games, Fortnite players sometimes stumble upon various network or server-related issues, one of which is the ESP-buimet-003 error code that has prevented many Xbox and PlayStation users from playing their favorite battle royale game. However, Fortnite users on PC don’t seem to ever encounter this particular issue. Nevertheless, if you’re having a problem with the ESP-buimet-003 error code in Fortnite, then there are five things you can try to fix it.

How to Fix Error Code ESP-buimet-003 in Fortnite

1. Check Fortnite Server Status

It seems the ESP-buimet-003 error code in Fortnite will often show up when there’s a server issue. With that in mind, the problem is with Epic Games’ server, and there is nothing you can do to fix it. Keep an eye on Fortnite‘s official server update Twitter account @FortniteStatus or head over to the official Epic Games Public Status page, which lists all Epic Games-related server statuses, including but not limited to Epic Store, Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League.

You can also check out individual gaming consoles’ online system or server availability by going on these links below:

2. Restart Your Gaming Device

Some Fortnite players who were afflicted with the ESP-buimet-003 error code, even if there was no server problem, claimed that simply restarting their Xboxes fixed the issue. Turning your preferred gaming device off and on might help fix crashing and other common errors because of obstructive applications or in-game errors running in the background. Restarting your system should refresh the whole thing.

3. Clear Your Console Cache

Console players can also try clearing their console caches to make sure there are no temporary files interrupting the game files or any update that was downloaded:

  • Turn off your console (PlayStation/Xbox) completely; do not put it in sleep mode.
  • Unplug the power cord for at least 5 minutes.
  • Plug the power cord back.
  • Turn on your console.

4. Remove Your Account and Add It Back Again

5. Run a Soft Factory Reset on Your Console

You should save this method for a last-ditch effort since doing a factory reset will wipe most — if not all — your data from saves, screenshots, to games on your consoles.

  • Press the PS button on your controller to go to the home screen.

  • Close any game or app you’re using.

  • On the home screen, select Settings > Login Settings > Users Management.

  • Delete the User by pressing the Delete button.

  • On the home screen, select the profile picture.

  • Select Switch User > Add User > Get Started > Create an Account.

  • Sign in with your account’s information.

  • Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

  • Select Settings > System > Console Info > Reset > Keep my games and apps.

  • Keep in mind that doing this will delete the profiles on your account.

  • Turn off your PlayStation console by pressing and holding the power button on the console.

  • Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again. Release it after you hear the second beep — one beep will sound when you first press and another seven seconds later. The second beep means the console has entered Safe Mode.

  • Using a USB cable, plug the DualShock 4/DualSense controller into the PS4 and press the PlayStation button on the controller.

  • Then pick the “6: Initialise PS4” or “Initialise PS5” option.

  • Follow any instructions and wait for it to finish.

  • Keep in mind that doing this will wipe out all saves, users, and their data from the system.
