Week 12 of Fortnite is coming to a close very soon, so this is your last chance to get through the week’s Epic and Legendary Quest. The second Legendary Quest for Week 12 has players upgrading their weapons using a material known as Alien Nanites. This material can be a bit difficult to find and the upgrade process might not be clear. Luckily this guide is here to help anyone trying to complete this challenge. This guide will show you how to craft a weapon with Alien Nanites in Fortnite.
How to Craft a Weapon With Alien Nanites in Fortnite
The first step in completing this challenge is to collect the Alien Nanites for the upgrade process. The Alien Nanites can randomly spawn and can be found as ground loot as well as found in chests, especially IO Chests. If you are looking for a guaranteed way to get Nanites, it will cost you a few Gold Bars. Head over to Lazy Lake where you will find an NPC named Marigold. She sells up to five Alien Nanites for a large sum of 150 Gold Bars each. Luckily, you only need one to complete this challenge.
Once you get yourself some Alien Nanites, all you need to get yourself any weapon that isn’t a shotgun that is either rare, epic, or legendary quality. Once this is done, you just need to open your inventory and go to the “Crafting” tab and upgrade your weapon of choice. Upgrading an SMG will yield you a Kymera Ray Gun, a pistol will get you the Plasma Cannon. Snipers get you the rail gun and ARs get you the Plasma Rifle.
Once you upgrade any of these weapons with Alien Nanites and the challenge is complete, you will be rewarded 30,000 XP for leveling up your Fortnite Battle Pass. You will also be able to move on to the next Legendary Quest for Week 12: Destroy Dummies with IO Weapons.
