Fortnite Battle Royale Launches A New Phase In Cross Platform Support But It S Not What You Expect

A new Fortnite patch has introduced the second phase of the cross-platform support among the different consoles, PC, and mobile devices now supported by the latest Epic Games, hugely successful battle royale title.

Thanks to the update, you can now add, remove, and manage Epic Friends from the main menu. You can now send, receive, and respond to crossplay Party Invites, and party Finder now includes Epic Friends on other platforms.

Unfortunately, the latest update doesn’t introduce any news about the much desired cross-platform support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users, who are only able to play with their friends on iOS and Android devices on top of PC.

This is something Epic Games has pushed a lot in order to obtain from Microsoft and Sony, but apparently, the Japanese platform holder is not interested in doing the few necessary steps to make it possible.

Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, and Android completely for free, and thus far has managed to beat PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds when it comes to the top grossing games around. It must be noted that, opposite to PUBG, it’s not a paid application.
